Application For Telephone Service
A new customer of MoKan Dial Telephone Company can sign up online or if you prefer, you may call our Business Office at (913) 837-2219, any workday, Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm. One of our Service Representatives will be glad to help you and answer any questions you may have.
Wiring and Equipment Options
The Telephone Company provides and maintains service up to your demarcation point, which is the point of physical interconnection (connecting block, terminal strip, jack, protector, or telephone network interface device) between the telephone network and your premises wiring. Inside wiring includes all wire or cable located on your side of the demarcation point.

MoKan Communications Inc. offers an Inside Wire Maintenance Contract for $1.95 per month. This covers repair to any existing inside wiring at your location. A service charge would apply to any new jacks or wiring installed. The cost is $25 for the first jack, $15 for each additional jack installed during the same service call for residential customers. Additions or changes to rental property require approval from owner. If existing wiring cannot be repaired, MoKan Communications reserves the right to replace existing wiring. Business locations that have been prewired by contractor or that have wiring via a conduit system may not be eligible for the Maintenance Program.
Pre-wiring of new residential locations can also be done by MoKan Communications. Service charge of $25 for the first jack and $15 fa each additional jack installed at the service call.
If a customer does NOT enroll in the Maintenance Plan, and trouble is reported on the line by the customer, a $25 trip charge will apply if the trouble is caused by faulty wiring or equipment. Additional charges to repair the wiring would also apply.
With the exception of a few customers that are leasing telephones from MoKan, the Telephone equipment is the responsibility of the customer. If you are a customer that has been leasing equipment and you replace the equipment with new phones, be sure to return the old equipment so we can remove the charge from your monthly billing.

Following is a checklist of information for our new customers:

If you have chosen a long distance carrier other than MoKan Communications, you will need to contact them directly to activate your service and set up an account. You will receive a separate billing from the long distance carrier. Calls outside of the 48 contiguous states may vary from the standard calling plans. Please call ahead for rates.

There will be a one time connect charge of $20.00 for Kansas customers and $2.40 for Missouri customers. Any jack installation and/or wiring will be billed as additional charges.

Recurring monthly Local Service and Internet charges are billed in advance. Long Distance calls are billed in arrears. Depending on the effective date of your service, your first billing may be for a period of more than 30 days. This also applies to any additional services you acquire at a future date.

In most cases, MoKan Dial does not charge a deposit to activate service. We do ask for a $75 pre-payment that will be applied to your first billing to offset the service charges and prorated recurring local service charges. MoKan Dial does reserve the right to charge a service deposit if determined from previous credit history.

Payments are due upon receipt of billing statement. Monthly statements are dated the 16th of the month. If payment is not received prior to the 1st of the month, you will receive a late notice. Kansas customers will be billed a $1.25 late notice charge if a notice is mailed. The late notice will advise the disconnect date – this will vary from month to month, usually around the 10th of the month. If payment arrangements need to be made, please call our office prior to the disconnect date. If payment is not received by 9:00 am on the date stated on the notice, service will be disconnected. A reconnect fee of $20.00 for Kansas customers and $2.40 for Missouri customers will apply.

In order to obtain information on an account, a person must be authorized to do so and will be required to provide a picture ID. Account information requested by phone will require a pre-established password.
Non-published or Non-listed telephone number service is a directory option provided to hearing/speech-impaired persons at no charge. In addition, the option of a special notation by the customer's name in the directory indicating TTY or TTY+ Voice capability can be provided at no charge.
